New York NY: It’s always exciting when your team gets to play in “World’s Most famous Arena,” as Temple took on South Carolina in 2017 Under Armour Reunion at Madison Square Garden in the heart of Manhattan. The Owls came into the game with a 3-1 record and coming off a loss to LaSalle back on November 26. The Gamecocks entered the battle with the owls with coming off a win over Florida International University back on November 27.  This is Temple’s first game at Madison Square Garden since their loss to Miami in the 2015 NIT Semifinals while South Carolina returns to MSG, where they won the 2017 East Regional.

Temple opened the scoring as Quinton Rose stole a pass and slammed it home for 2 for an early 2-0 lead, South Carolina would eventually respond and get on the board by Frank Booker to tie the game at 2.  The play of the first half would go to Quinton Rose as he would throw the ball down the floor for a pass but it would go in as a three-pointer. Rose would have everything going for The Owls in the first half. Temple would play good defense and make some big shots while also managing to make South Carolina look bad.

The Gamecocks would make the rest of the first half interesting by making a big three-pointer, led by Maik Kotsar. Temple’s Josh Brown made the shot at the buzzer to end the first half as Temple would take a 38-27 lead.

South Carolina began the second half with the ball and the sloppy play by the Gamecocks continued, as they managed to make bad shots while Temple kept up the good defense. Quinton Rose was the story of the game as he led the way for The Owls. Obi Enechionyia also managed to stake his claim with some big blocks in the second half.  Temple would lead the game with a high of 23 points at 66-43 with 6:28 left. The Owls would fly to a 76-60 win over South Carolina.

With the win, Temple goes to 4-1 on the season and now gets ready for George Washington on Sunday, December 3. South Carolina looks to rebound from this performance as they head to a battle against UMass on December 2.
