It is now week 4 of the NFL season and last week featured its fair share of craziness, with many games being decided at the last second. This week, we take a look at the NFC East betting odds to see how the teams will fair in their matchups. We will also include a bonus game with the “Play of the Week.” Each matchup will feature some background information as well as the teams record against the spread (ATS) thus far this season. Last week we went 1-3, so we will look to bounce back in a big way this weekend.

NFC East

Philadelphia Eagles at Los Angeles Chargers (-1)

Week 4’s matchup between the Eagles and Chargers brings two teams together going in very different directions. The Eagles are coming off a miraculous 27-24 win against the Giants, where kick Jake Elliott nailed a 61-yard field goal as time expired, to help the Birds improve to 2-1. The Chargers on Sunday were handed their third straight loss by Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs. Even though the Chargers are 0-3, they could easily be 2-1 if a few bounces or kicks go their way.

According to Covers, the Chargers come in as -1 point favorite, after opening in favor of the Eagles by a point on Monday. Los Angeles has lost six straight home games, but has not lost to Philadelphia at home since 1974. Look for that streak to end this weekend as Carson Wentz and the Eagles offense will be too much for the Chargers.

ATS- PHI: 1-2 LAC: 0-2-1

Eagles win outright: Eagles 24, Chargers, 17

Los Angeles Rams at Dallas Cowboys (-6)

In a very surprising result in week 3 the Rams defeated the 49ers on Thursday Night Football 41-39. The NFL’s lowest scoring team in 2016, has looked very improved this year with new head coach Sean McVay. After getting beat down in week 2, the Cowboys got back on track last week with a road win on Monday night against the Cardinals. The Cowboys who are now 2-1, are tied in first place in the NFC East with the Eagles.

Covers, had the line for this matchup open at Cowboys -8. Coming off a sub-par Monday night performance that line has since used to -6. Jared Goff will continue to impress against a weak Cowboys defense, but Ezekiel Elliot will be too much for the Rams to stay in the game for long.

ATS- LAR: 1-2 DAL: 2-1

Cowboys win and cover the spread: Cowboys 27 Rams 16

Play of the Week

New York Giants at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-3)

The New York Giants are still looking for their first win of the 2017 season. On Sunday, New York will travel to Tampa to take on a Buccaneers team who just recently lost to a Case Keenum led Vikings team. The Giants lost a 27-24 heartbreak at the hand of the Eagles on Sunday. The good news for New York was how well Odell Beckham played. The Giants offense needs Beckham to do anything and will be key if they stand a chance at Raymond James Stadium this weekend.

Covers, had the line open at 4.5 in favor of Tampa Bay, but since has shifted to Bucs -3. This is in favor of how poorly the Bucs played last week. Jameis Winston and Mike Evans will lead the Buccaneers back in the win column and the Giants will fall to 0-4.

ATS- NYG: 1-2 TB: 1-1

Buccaneers win and cover the spread: Buccaneers 24 Giants 20

Washington Redskins at Kansas City Chiefs (-7)

Week 4 will come to a conclusion on Monday night at Arrowhead Stadium, when the undefeated Chiefs take on the Redskins. Kansas City won their third straight game against the Chargers last week and return home to one of the toughest venues in sports. Washington comes into this game riding high after defeating the Raiders 27-10 on Sunday night.

Covers, opened the line at -8 in favor of Kansas City, but since the Redskins Sunday night performance  the line has come down to -7. Alex Smith has played like the NFL’s MVP so far and if he continues that the Redskins are in for a long night. Washington has lost its last six games against the Chiefs and that will more than likely continue on Monday night.

ATS- WSH: 2-1 KC: 3-0

Chiefs win and cover the spread: Chiefs 28 Redskins 13
