Philadelphia PA: As the entire basketball world awaits the release of the 2-17-18 NBA Schedule, there will be some international flavor that will involve a classic rivalry. On Thursday, the NBA would announce that the Philadelphia 76ers to play the Boston Celtics in the NBA London Game 2018 on Thursday, January 11 against the Boston Celtics at The O2 Arena. The game will be LIVE on CSN here in Philadelphia & on 97.5 The Fanatic

This will be the 8th time the NBA will be playing a regular season game in London, and this will be the 76ers & Celtics second time playing in UK, the last time the Celtics played in the UK was a preseason game vs Minnesota Timberwolves in 2007 while the 76ers last played in the UK was also a preseason game in Manchester vs Oklahoma City Thunder in 2013.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver:
“This will be our 16th game in London where our events have become an annual opportunity for basketball fans across Europe to come together and share their passion for the NBA.”

Sixers Managing General Partner Josh Harris, who also owns Crystal Palace F.C. of the EPL:
“The sport of basketball continues to show remarkable growth internationally and we’re excited to travel to London to play in front of the great fans there on Jan. 11. It’s especially exciting to have the Sixers face off against the Boston Celtics on Thursday, to be followed by Crystal Palace’s Saturday match-up against Burney nearby in South London.”

I have fond memories of coaching the Australian national team in London during the 2012 Olympics.
