Philadelphia PA:  The long grind of the regular season had 1 final stop before the playoffs and it came to the Wells Fargo Center in South Philadelphia on Saturday night as the Philadelphia Soul took on Tampa Bay Storm. The Philadelphia Soul enter game with 12-1 record and off a blowout win over Baltimore on July 29 while Tampa Bay comes into battle against Philadelphia with a 10-3 record and off a win over Cleveland on July 22.

Tampa Bay won toss and deferred to 2nd half, so Soul got the ball to start the game and they would score on the opening drive for as RB Mykell Benson runs it in for 7-0 lead and the defense would make things hard for Tampa Bay. Soul would make it 14-0 on 29 yard TD catch by Shaun Kauleinamoku. Tampa Bay would get on the baord as QB Chris Bonner would find WR Justin Hilton for 41 yard TD. Mykell Benson would add his 2nd rush TD of game to make it 20-7. Tampa Bay would keep the game close with TD and the Soul would answer the score as QB Dan Raudabaugh runs it in 1 yard out as time expires as the Soul would take a 27-14 lead into halftime.

Soul got ball to start the 2nd half and they would keep putting the pressure on Tampa Bay as the backup QB Luke Collis took over for Dan Raudabaugh and make some good throws. The highlight of the game came in the 4th quarter as Luke Collis would throw a deep ball to WR Darius Reynolds who caught it 1 handed for TD. a crowd of 9,071 saw the Philadelphia Soul take down the Storm 41-28 to finish the regular season 13-1 and Tampa Bay finishes at 10-4. The Soul now head into the Playoffs as the number 1 seed and they will take on Baltimore on August 12 at 4PM while Tampa Bay rides to the playoffs as the number 2 seed against Cleveland on August 14 at 7PM. The winner of these games will play in ArenaBowl XXX on August 26.
