With the NBA Fan Awards show set to take center stage Monday, two Sixers stars will be hoping to hear their names called as Rookie of the Year for the 2016-2017 NBA season.

Dario Saric:

The 12th pick in the 2014 NBA Draft made his debut in the 2016-2017 season and averaged 12.8 points, 6.3 rebounds in his rookie year.  After the All-Star break, with a hurt Joel Embiid sidelined for the remainder of the season, and Ersan Ilyasova being traded to the Atlanta Hawks, Saric averaged 19.5 points, 7.9 rebounds, 4.2 assists to end the season.

Joel Embiid:

The 3rd pick in the 2014 NBA draft made his NBA debut in the 2016-2017 season after sitting out back-to-back seasons with injuries.  Despite playing only 31 games last year, Embiid averaged 20.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks.  Will Embiid be rewarded as the NBA’s most exciting young big man?
