The Eagles announced their first free agency signing of the year by signing veteran wide receiver Torrey Smith to a 3-year, 15 million dollar deal. The Eagles almost traded for Smith during the season, but talks with the 49’ers died. Smith, who is 28, has averaged 17.0 yards per catch over his career. After a disappointing season with the 49’ers, Smith hopes to get back of track with the Eagles. Smith had his best seasons playing with Joe Flacco and the Ravens, including a 65 reception for 1,128 yards in 2013. This is the first move by the Eagles in an attempt to surround Carson Wentz with more offensive weapons.
