This week the Eagles announced two new special teams contract extensions for fan favorites Chris Maragos and Jon Dorenbos. Both players received 3-year extensions that will keep them with the team through the 2019 season. Maragos, who’s official position is safety, has been a key component of the Eagles special teams since arriving in Philadelphia in 2014. He led the team in special teams tackles in 2014, was second in 2015, and is on pace to lead the team again this year. He blocked a punt that was returned for a touchdown in the Eagles win against the New England Patriots last season. Jon Dorenbos, well known for his incredible magic tricks, is currently the longest tenured player on the Eagles. While he may be more well known for his run on the popular TV show America’s Got Talent, Dorenbos has been a very solid and dependable player for the Eagles for a very long time.
