The Eagles welcomed back quarterback Sam Bradford Monday, following Bradford’s weeklong holdout from voluntary minicamp.
Bradford had been absent from the NovaCare Complex in an attempt to force a trade, after the Eagles drafted future quarterback Carson Wentz second overall in the 2016 NFL Draft. The veteran quarterback hinted as much in a statement:
I’m excited to be back on the field today with my teammates and coaches. The business-side of football is sometimes a necessary consideration. My attention and efforts are focused on the participation in and preparation for a championship season: I am committed to my teammates and the Eagles organization for nothing less.
For now, Bradford and agent Tom Condon have rescinded their trade request. It remains to be seen whether the former Oklahoma Sooner will be on the roster beyond the 2016 season.
