A win tomorrow against the Cowboys would certainly improve the Eagles chances of making the playoffs, they would sit 5-4 overall and 2-2 in the division. A win tomorrow would also put any talk of the Cowboys making the playoffs to bed as well. However a loss to the Cowboys tomorrow makes the Eagles 4-5 and 1-3 against the division, which would be really hard to come back from since the Cowboys would have 3 wins in the division. The division is up for the taking, for the team who wants it the most.

In order for the Eagles to win against the Romo-less Cowboys, the Eagles defense must shut down Darren McFadden, who has been their main source of offense the past two weeks, especially in their week 7 match against the Giants, when he ran for 152 yards and a touchdown, even though the Cowboys lost that game. They must also not let Matt Cassel get into a rhythm, since the last time he faced the Eagles was in 2013 when he was with the Vikings, and he burned the Eagles for 382 yards and two touchdowns and he also ran for another one in the Vikings win over the Eagles. The Eagles also must eliminate Dez Bryant from the game and make him a non-factor.

The Eagles offense must eliminate the drops, as that is one of the biggest drive killers they has plagued the Eagles this season. They had at least 6 or 7 drops in their last game against the Panthers and they are third in the league in most drops with 18 drops this season. Bradford must limit the mental mistakes and make better decisions with the football. He has not impressed me this year, he’s played mediocre football and if the Eagles want any part of the playoffs then he must step up his play. Granted, dropped balls as I mentioned earlier have plagued the Eagles but the 10 interceptions he’s thrown this year have not all been the wide receivers fault. He’s thrown 4 ill-advised interceptions in the red zone this season. The Eagles have to get the run game going early they can’t put this game solely on Bradford and in order for them to do that the Eagles offensive line has to play better, after they got overpowered by the Cowboys defensive line earlier this season.

After the embarrassing first game against the Cowboys, I look for the Eagles to make a statement and show that they can win this weak division. I predict the Eagles win big 31-10, the Cowboys really miss Romo and won’t be able to get anything going offensively if the Eagles can shut down McFadden. Until Sunday Night, Fly Eagles Fly!!
