By dealing away talented sophomore prospect Nik Stauskas, the Sacramento Kings have officiallly entered the Wesley Matthews sweepstakes.
Stauskas was dealt July 2nd, along with salary cogs Carl Landry and Jason Thompson in an attempt to clear space for the prized free agent. The Kings have secured a face-to-face meeting with Matthews and the move is simply proof that the team is 100% committed to attaining him.
As for the Sixers, they are simply a dumping ground for the two players. Whether the Sixers have use for them is unknown for now, but more will be known as the season approaches.
In 73 appearances last year, Stauskas averaged 4.4 points, 1.2 rebounds and 0.9 assists in 15.4 minutes per game.
