As nations begin publishing their twenty-three men for the World Cup, USA manager Jurgen Klinsmann isn’t about to hand out spots before he has to. Thus, the manager compiled a list of the top thirty American players, and will unleash them to survive in the lion’s den of World Cup camp.

The squad includes household names such as Tim Howard, Landon Donovan, and Clint Dempsey, all of whom could be playing in their last World Cup. Behind them, rising star Michael Bradley is a certainty to make the stating midfield against Ghana.

The group is also comprised of budding cornerstones of U.S. soccer. Right back DeAndre Yedlin and winger Julian green are both youngsters that have a chance to make hay in the World Cup camp. Striker Aaron Johansson will act as the extra striker during matches when the team needs that final goal.

Then, there are the hopefuls who, barring a world-beater performance, will likely miss the plane ride entirely. John Brooks was a surprise call up, and will likely be left off the squad. Midfielder Joe Corona, who unseated Edie Johnson for a spot in the final thirty, will likely also miss the plane to Brazil.
