Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson has partnered with the Developing Options Youth Foundation and the City of Los Angeles to put together the DeSean Jackson Youth Football Camp which will be held Saturday, July 20.
The football camp, which is for children ages six through 18, will be held at Crenshaw High School in Los Angeles, California between 8:00am and 12:00pm. Both Jackson and Developing Options are dedicated to creating awareness and helping research efforts for Lupus, Diabetes and Obesity.
To Eagles fans, Jackson is known for his athletic ability on the field. However, he has a huge role in charity work as well with his DeSean Jackson Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer while also participating in other causes. Jackson created the foundation with the help of his mother after he lost his father to the disease.
Developing Options Youth Foundation mission is to improve the quality of life for those affected by disease and obesity. Developing Options provides education and recreation in order to encourage those participating to grow in different ways. The Foundation serves children from the inner city of Los Angeles and their goal is to serve over a thousand annually who have had their lives affected by the diseases lupus and diabetes. Each year, the foundation plans to offer one-day, weekend, and summer-long camps as part of the reach out to those affected. The camps are meant to be informative and interactive.
The event on July 20 will be action packed with celebrities in attendance including DeSean Jackson and other NFL players. High School and College coaches will also be at the camp. The celebrity coaches and players will help coach the participants in a Youth Sports and Fitness Clinic.
