The anticipation, apprehension, and agony subsides. The Philadelphia Eagles have finalized Chip Kelly’s coaching staff.

The Eagles have hired former Browns Head Coach Pat Shurmur as the team’s Offensive Coordinator. Shurmur previously served as the Quarterbacks Coach in Philadelphia, working with Donovann McNabb and Kevin Kolb. Ted Williams and Duce Staley were retained from Andy Reid’s staff, and will serve as the Tight Ends and Running Backs coaches, respectively. New hires on the offensive side include coaches Bill Lazor(QB), Bob Bicknell(WR), Jeff Stoutland(OL), Justin Peelle(Asst. TE), Greg Austin(Asst. OL), and Press Taylor(Offensive Quality Control).

Former Browns LB Coach Billy Davis will run the Eagles defense. Davis previously Coach the 49ers and Cardinals defenses. Davis coached seven o his players to Pro Bowl appearances, including Eagles CB Domonique Rogers-Cromartie. Davis will work with coaches Jerry Azzinaro(DL/Asst. Head Coach), Billy McGovern(OLB), Rick Minter(ILB), John Lovett(DB), Todd Lyght(Asst. DB), Erik Chinander(Asst. DL), and Mike Dawson(Defensive Quality Control).

Dave Fipp will coordinate Special Teams. Fipp worked with the 49ers and Dolphins, when his Special Teams ranked 2nd(2011) and 4th(2012). He will be assisted by Matt Harper. In addition, the Eagles hired Josh Hingst(Strength and Conditioning), and Shaun Huls(Sports Science Coordinator).

Only time will tell whether these hires pay off. The new era of Eagles football is officially underway.
