  • Monday, 12/31 7:40 PM: Jay Glazer of FOX Sports has tweeted that the Eagles have received permission to interview Falcons’ Defensive Coordinator Mike Nolan. They plan to do so sometime Friday.
  • ESPN reported that Lovie Smith has already been contacted by four teams, though they did not name which four.
  • Monday, 12/31 8:10 PM: Well this is interesting: Jay Glazer is now reporting that the Eagles have asked permission to interview Nolan, Offensive Coordinator Dirk Koetter, and Special Teams Coordinator Keith Armstrong Wednesday in Atlanta.
  • The Eagles are moving urgently in their search partly because by Febuary 6th, they need to make a decision on Michael Vick. Vick is due $3 million on that date, and the new coach must decide his fate.
  • Monday 12/31 8:40 PM: Cardinals President Mike Bidwill has stated that the team will interview Andy Reid for the Head Coaching Position in Arizona.
  • Tuesday, 1/1 1:30 PM: The Philadelphia Inquirer is reporting that Oregon Head Coach Chip Kelly is the “prime target.”
  • ESPN is reporting that Kelly and Penn State’s Bill O’Brien are on the team’s short list. However, no interview with either candidate has been scheduled as of yet.
  • Tuesday, 1/1 4:30 PM: Adam Schefter is reporting that Andy Reid is the leading candidate for the Arizona Cardinals head coaching job and “could be named to job by end of the week, per league sources.” The Cardinals must first abide by the Rooney rule, and are interviewing Defensive Coordinator Ray Horton.
  • Tuesday, 1/1 4:53 PM: NFL Insider Jason LaCanfora tweeted, “At this point, I’d be looking for Reid in AZ, Arians in SD, Whisenhunt in BUF. CLE and PHI going after Bill O’Brien.”
  • Tuesday, 1/1 5:25 PM: Conflicting reports indicate that Tom Heckert could join Andy Reid in Arizona.
  • Jeff Mclane is reporting that former Syracuse Head Coach Doug Marrone is on the Eagles shortlist with Kelly and O’Brien.
  • Tuesday, 1/1 9:14 PM: Adam Schefter is now reporting that a source close to Reid says Arizona coaching search is wide open. Many reports conflicting.
  • Wednesday 1/2, 12:49 PM: Falcons Offensive Coordinator Dirk Koetter has signed a two-year contract extension, and is will not pursue a head coaching position.
  • Jeff Mclane has stated that, per NFL source, the Eagles will interview Broncos Offensive Coordinator Mike McCoy this weekend in Denver.
  • Andy Reid will interview with the Chiefs today in Philly, then fly to Arizona tonight to interview with the Cardinals.
  • Thursday 1/3, 7:20 PM: Adam Caplan tweeted, “I’m hearing the Eagles are in the process of trying to set up an interview with PSU HC Bill O’Brien over the next few days.”
  • Thursday 1/3, 11:49 PM: ESPN has reported that Andy Reid and the Chiefs are close to a deal. Reid still has interviews with Arizona and San Diego set up, so it is to be seen if the Chefs get him to cancel.
  • Note: Reid did not fly to Arizona Wednesday night as scheduled.
  • Thursday 1/3, 1:02 PM: Jason LaCanfora has tweeted that an Andy Reid deal with Kansas City is “NOW imminent. As in will be finalized likely by end of day.”
  • The Eagles travel to Kansas City to battle the Chiefs in 2013.
  • Broncos OC Mike McCoy has set up an interview with the Eagles on Sunday.
  • Thursday 1/3, 5:47 PM: David Jones of the Harrisburg-Patriot News told 94WIP’s Michael Barkann and Rob Ellis “He’s very intrigued and it all happened pretty quickly. It blew up pretty quickly, but he’s not going to turn down an NFL job, he’s just not, especially the Eagles,”
  • Thursday 1/3, 8:10 PM: It is being reported that the Browns have already scheduled an interview O’Brien.
  • Adam Caplan believes that the Eagles-Browns showdown will occur as early as tomorrow, after the Ducks play their final game in the Fiesta Bowl. The Bills are a “distant third” according to Caplan.
  • Jason LaCanfota has tweeted “Bill O’Brien is staying at Penn State after NFL pursuit.”
  • Friday 1/4, 11:10 AM: The Chiefs and Andy Reid have reached an agreement for him to become their new head coach.
  • Friday 1/4, 5:01 PM: The Eagles have been granted permission to interview Seattle DC Gus Bradley and Indianapolis OC Bruce Arians.
  • Saturday 1/5, 8:13 AM: Adam Shefter is reporting that the Eagles are flying to Arizona to interview Chip Kelly today.

This is a true battle between old friends Banner and Lurie, however the Eagles are to interview other candidates. They will interview Marrone and McCoy in Denver tomorrow. Again: meeting STILL going on.
