As the NHL & NHLPA Continue negotiations on trying to get a new CBA done in order to save the 2012-13 NHL Season. Today is a big Milestone for USA Sports in that today is the 75th Birthday for USA Hockey, Today on their Twitter page @usahockey they are asking everyone for their favorite USA Hockey Moments. Some of the Moments that stand out the most is the Miracle on Ice at the 1980 Winter Olympics at Lake Placid NY when USA Hockey made up of amateur and collegiate players and led by coach Herb Brooks defeated the Soviet team, who had won nearly every world championship and Olympic tournament since 1954, Mike Eruzione scored the game winning goal for USA which lead to the famous call by ABC Sports Al Michaels ” 11 seconds, you’ve got 10 seconds, the countdown going on right now! Morrow, up to Silk. Five seconds left in the game. Do you believe in miracles?! YES!

Another USA Hockey Memory that Stands out for me was the Vancouver Winter Olympics Men’s Ice Hockey USA vs. CAN Gold Medal Game, why this one in particular it drew a TV audience of 27.6 Million, then it went up to 34.8 million viewers when the game went into Overtime, which attracted the largest US audience for a hockey telecast since the US victories over Russia and Finland in the 1980 Olympics. The game was an instant classic in the way the USA came back to tie the game with 24 seconds left in 3rd period on goal by Zack Parise. NBC Sports Mike Emrick called the game “Kane a shot off of him THEY SCORE Zack Parise out of a net mouth scramble and the game is Tied”
