According to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Eagles rookie defensive tackle Fletcher Cox has been fined $21,000 for throwing a punch in last week’s loss to the Detroit Lions.

Cox was ejected in the 4th quarter of the game after Matthew Stafford scampered into the end zone for touchdown. Cox threw a punch at Lions lineman Gosder Cherilus after the extra point. Cox confirmed that he threw the punch after the game to McLane. McLane was quoted as saying  “I can’t afford to do that.”

Cox was selected 12th overall in this year’s draft. He continues to be a part of the defensive line’s rotation behind Cullen Jenkins and Derek Landri.
