A word that Eagles fans across Philadelphia are all too used to and a feeling we are all fed up with. Last Sunday the Eagles fell short vs. the Detroit Lions 26-23 at Lincoln Financial Field.  Lion’s kicker Jason Hanson kicked a game winning 45 yard field goal to beat the Eagles in OT.

The Eagles have had trouble all year with turnovers, and through six games they have a total of 17 turnovers, and 13 of them coming from Mike Vick. Many are questioning him now, is it time for Nick Foles?

Sunday Vick threw 2 interceptions and botched a snap which gave the Lions the ball. On the bright side he did have 2 touchdown passes and 311 yards, but all that matters in the end result. The Eagles still came up short and are now heading into their bye week 3-3.

After a 70 yard touchdown pass to Jeremy Maclin, the Eagles were up 23-13 with 5:18 left in the game.  The Lions responded quickly and had a chance to win the game at one point, but Stafford overthrew Calvin Johnson in the end zone.

In Overtime the Eagles got the ball first, but failed to do anything with the ball. Vick was sacked twice and Philadelphia was forced to punt out of their own end zone.

Stafford picked though the Eagles defense and a few plays later, Detroit’s kicker Jason Hansen smashed a 45 yarder through the uprights and the Lions had won.

The Lion’s advanced to 2-3 on the season as Philly could not hang on and went to 3-3. With a bitter taste in Philadelphia’s mouth going into the bye week, it will be interesting to see how they respond.

The Eagles will take on the Atlanta Falcons on October 28th. The Falcons are 6-0 right now so this next game in two weeks will be a big challenge for the birds.
